------------------------
This release can be installed within your existing Peoples General folder.

It wont replace any existing files. The EXE file has been modified to call the new versions of each file.

ZIP File contents:
	PEG027x.EXE (new version of PEOPLES.EXE)
GUI026.TXT (new version of GUI97.TXT specifically for PEG26.EXE & higher)
MISC026.txt (new version of MISC.TXT specifically for PEG26.EXE & higher)
	INFOICN2.S16 (a substitute for INFOICON.s16 in MODGEN.DAT)
	BUTTON2.S16 (a substitute for BUTTONS.s16 in MODGEN.DAT)
PeG 2.7 Update.txt	(detailed description of the current & past mods)
PeG 2.7 Read Me.txt	(this file)
	CHANGEMODGEN.ZIP	(a package of tools & instructions for updatingMODGEN.DAT)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-------------------------
(1) Unzip PEG26x-BETA.ZIP to your main People's General folder. It will NOT overwrite any of your regular files.

(2) You will have to ADD these two files to your MODGEN.DAT file:
	INFOICN2.S16
	BUTTON2.S16
These are substitutes for INFOICON.s16 and BUTTONS.s16. You can continue to use your existing version of PeG with the original s16 files.

If you have added S16 files to the Modgen before:
-------------------------------------------------
Use whatever Modgen upgrade program you usually use -- Fred Chlanda's PPEG.EXE & UPEG.EXE or Progi's icon tool.

If you have NEVER added S16 files to the Modgen before:
-------------------------------------------------------
MODGEN.DAT is a collection of sub-files similar to a ZIP file. It is NOT a ZIP file so don't bother trying to use WinZIP, WinRAR or other compression utilities with it.

ADDING the new S16 files -- INFOICN2.S16 & BUTTON2.S16 -- means putting a copy of them within the MODGEN.DAT file itself. Putting the S16 files in the PeG folder will NOT get the PEG02.6x running. You MUST use a PeG utility to modify the MODGEN.DAT file.

***********************************************************************************************
IMPORTANT:

	INFOICN2.S16 & BUTTON2.S16 MUST be added to MODGEN.DAT.

If you don't add these two files then PeG 2.6 WILL NOT WORK.

Please contact me if you have any questions about Step 2 above.

***********************************************************************************************

CHANGEMODGEN.ZIP, included in this package, contains PPEG.EXE, UPEG.EXE plus instructions for using them. PPEG.EXE & UPEG.EXE are Fred Chlanda's PeG utilities for adding S16 files to the MODGEN.DAT file.

Carl-Johan Ankerstjerne's PANZER2.DAT Tool is a more powerful, Windows based DAT editor which will work with both MODGEN.DAT and PANZER2.DAT. It is available here:
